This project is a subaward for trainees from Mozambique under the Feed the Future Borlaug Higher Education for Agricultural Research and Development (BHEARD) Program. The BHEARD program is funded through CIMMYT with USAID resources. It is a major new effort to increase the number of agricultural scientists and to strengthen scientific institutions in developing countries, over a five-year period or longer.
The subaward program will focus on Mozambique. It will support training of agricultural researchers at the master’s and doctoral levels and will link scientific and higher education communities in Uganda and the United States. The program is supported by a combination of funds from the USAID Bureau for Food Security, and from USAID Mozambique.
Implementation Oct. 2012 - Sept. 2016
