Call for student abstracts (undergraduate, graduate and veterinary students) for virtual oral and poster presentations

The 6th International Symposium on Beef Cattle Welfare will be hosted as a series of webinars from February through June 2022.

The symposium's goal is to bring together renowned beef experts to discuss their latest research findings and emerging animal welfare issues that face the beef cattle industry. The webinar series will features topics of interest for producers, processors, retailers, government officials, NGOs, animal scientists, veterinarians and students.

Student abstracts will be selected by the abstract review committee to be presented during the Zoom webinar on April 27, 2022. Student presentations will be 7 minutes with 3 minutes for questions; abstracts should focus on emerging issues in beef calf production, cow-calf management and production, or beef cattle welfare. The oral presentation abstract submission closes March 13, and notification of decisions will be provided by April 4, 2022.

Abstract Submission Instructions

Abstracts must be submitted online as part of the registration process. Please indicate if you would prefer an oral or poster presentation. Students who apply to present an oral presentation are given the opportunity to provide a virtual poster presentation if not selected to participate in an oral presentation on April 27.

Format

Title should be in Arial 14 point, bold

Authors should be formatted as demonstrated below:

The body text of the abstract should be no more than 200 words in length and provide an overview of the content of the poster or presentation. The use of abbreviations and acronyms should be limited and the identity of the presenter should be denoted with an Asterix. Use Arial, 11-point font.
