December 7th features the graduate students of CSUS814 class, STPAM Theories and Applications. Their talk is entitled "Live, laugh, #lovelansing: A synthesis of leisure experiential framings and applications."

Presenters: Michele Remer, Zoe Pride, Erin Budzyn, Lydia Kiewra, and Bess Perry

Seminar Description: Sustainable tourism and protected areas management theories are diverse and diversely applied. In CSUS 814 this fall, we explored theories and applications through field visits to see them “in action.” Our presentation will highlight class and research vignettes that emphasize this breadth and utility: the community capitals framework in Arctic tourism, socio-ecological sustainability scales in France’s Mount Blanc region, communication frame theory in southern California wildfire messaging, recreation conflict typologies in Michigan state game areas, and an overview of the course format supporting these learnings.
