Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Legume Systems Research Announces Request for Concept Notes: Area of Inquiry 2
The Legume Systems Innovation Lab is seeking cutting-edge legume systems research proposals.
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Legume Systems Research, managed by Michigan State University, invites concept notes for Area of Inquiry 2 for collaborative research and capacity building projects on legume systems with the potential to generate mutual benefits for developing countries and U.S. agriculture.
The Legume Systems Innovation Lab Areas of Inquiry (AOI) reflect a programmatic alignment with the U.S. government’s Global Food Security Strategy and complementarity to the Research Program on Grain Legumes and Dryland Cereals (GLDC) of the CGIAR.
The Legume Systems Innovation Lab will focus on three AOIs:
- Area of Inquiry 1: Integration of legumes into sustainable smallholder farming systems and agricultural landscapes
- Area of Inquiry 2: Integration of legumes within local/regional market systems, including trade
- Area of Inquiry 3: Analysis of sociocultural and/or economic motivators or barriers to legume utilization at various stages and scales within production and market systems
The Legume Systems Innovation Lab is currently requesting concept notes for Area of Inquiry 2 – Integration of legumes within local and regional market systems, including trade.
The deadline for submission of concept notes is July 8, 2019. For more information on eligibility and requirements visit Funding Opportunities on our website or piestar. The concept notes are the first stage, with full proposals requested of a selected subset of finalists.
