MSU Extension hires agricultural and occupational health educator

EmailMichigan State University Extension is pleased to welcome Samantha Wolfe as a statewide educator.
As the new Michigan State University Extension Agricultural and Occupational Health Educator, Samantha Wolfe will be stationed at the Benzie County office while serving statewide.
Wolfe’s deep rural roots growing up in a farming community sparked her passion for conservation and environmental education. She brings a wealth of experience to this position, having previously overseen numerous education initiatives at a 2,000-acre environmental facility in New Jersey. Her work with diverse communities to enhance outreach potential for an outdoor retailer in the Philadelphia area demonstrates her commitment to connecting with various audiences.
Her recent role with the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) in Grand Traverse and Antrim Counties allowed her to directly assist farmers in mitigating environmental risks while safeguarding natural resources. She specialized in tree fruit crops and collaborated with local and regional agricultural organizations to provide innovative solutions like container and tire recycling for farmers.
In her new position as an MSU Extension educator, Wolfe is eager to engage with farmers from various agricultural backgrounds, learn about their unique stories, and collaborate to enhance their operations. She will also play a key role in expanding the AgrAbility project across Michigan, representing it at producer meetings, field days, and other events. Her work will involve improving evaluation processes, giving updates through MSU Extension and other channels, and working closely with health departments and regional offices to enhance workplace safety and best practices.
Wolfe's appointment marks an exciting addition to MSU Extension, reinforcing the commitment to serving Michigan's agricultural community and fostering a sustainable and safe environment.
