Alex is a Research Associate on the multi-institute 3M (Metrics, Management and Monitoring) project funded by the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and the Noble Research Institute. She is applying her expertise in data management, soil health, and process-based hydrological and biogeochemical modeling to support several thrusts of the project in collaboration with other IWR researchers and MSU faculty. She is joining IWR following a two-year stint as a postdoc on the AIFARMS project at the University of Chicago and Argonne National Lab. Alex graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2012 with a BS in Water Resources and a BS in Physics and completed her PhD at MSU in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2020. Motivated by her love of the natural environment and the freshwaters of her native upstate New York, she is excited to apply her research to guide science-based land stewardship in the Great Lakes Region.
