Mackenzie Thompson graduated in December 2022 from MSU’s Lyman Briggs College with a B.S. in Zoology/concentration in Marine Biology and a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. During her undergrad career, she worked on campus in wastewater surveillance of COVID-19 and invasive Red Swamp Crayfish management. After graduation, Mackenzie continued her wastewater surveillance work and worked on Great Lakes predatory fish diet studies as well. Now, she leads the invasive Red Swamp Crayfish management team with MSU’s Dr. Brian Roth and the Michigan DNR.
