Background:

Nick received a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Goucher College in 2014. While at Goucher, Nick became interested in fish and fisheries through a study abroad experience at the Roatán Institute of Marine Sciences, and through an internship at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Nick moved to the Midwest in 2016 to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. After graduating from UM Nick worked as a Fishery Research Program associate at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission where he administered the Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation System (GLATOS), a network of researchers who use acoustic telemetry to track fish movement in support of fishery management. Nick’s PhD research will focus on analyzing acoustic telemetry data in support of GLATOS research.
