This table means to serve as a season-long guide for when various pest life stages are expected and the best time to target management strategies based on an average year. The dates, growth stages and pest development presented in this guide represent averages for the time period of 2018-2023 for the Northwest Michigan Horticulture Research Center (NWMHRC) maintained by MSU Enviroweather. Plant growth stages are based on 20-year averages of phenological data from Northwest Michigan Horticulture Research Center of the Ulster and Emperor Francis varieties. Growers should adjust as needed for different varieties or growing regions. Actual situations on any given farm may differ. This chart is meant as a guide and not to replace on-farm scouting.
