The Innovative Agricultural Research Initiative (iAGRI), funded through USAIDs Feed-the-Future Initiative, is an investment in development-enabling knowledge. It aims to strengthen training and collaborative research capacities of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and the Tanzanian National Agricultural Research System (NARS) with the goal of improving food security and agricultural productivity in Tanzania. A dynamic agricultural knowledge information system is vital for improving farm-level productivity, value-chain efficiency, and the nutritional status of food-insecure populations.
i-AGRI is being implemented by an Ohio State University-lead consortium of US, African and Other Country Universities working in Tanzania to increase food security and build capacity. MSU/AFRE is one of the USA partners in the consortium.
