Plants and Their Parents: Heredity and Traits
MSU Tollgate Farm in Novi, Michigan has interactive, educational, and fun school and community field trips designed for a variety of ages.
Plant and Their Parents- Heredity and Traits (MId-April - early June): How are plants and animals alike and different from their parents? What do plants and animals need to survive? Organisms, such as plants and animals, have unique and diverse life cycles but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction, and death. These organisms also have traits inherited from parents and variation of these traits exists in a group of similar organisms. Investigate how these traits can be influenced by the environment and how variations in traits can provide advantages in survival and mating. Be a botanist for a day as you explore connections between adaptation and survival.
Programs $ 12/per adult or child. Teachers are free. Financial aid process available.
