MSU Extension offers an 8-hour ServSafe® Manager training course and certification exam. This class is designed for anyone working in the foodservice industry, including non-profit organizations.
Participants must receive a 70% score on the exam to earn a certificate.
Registration Information
The course is $75 per person. The required textbook, ServSafe® Manager 9th edition book (or 8th Edition for first time students) with answer sheet, is sold separately.
Cancellation received on or after August 12, 2026, will incur a $25 cancellation fee.
Textbook Requirement - Must Purchase Separately
After registering for this class you will receive a confirmation message that includes the instructions on how to purchase a ServSafe® 9th edition textbook (or 8th Edition for first time students) with an answer sheet. The book needs to be read before attending the class.
Instructors
Classes are taught by MSU Extension educators, who are certified instructors and exam proctors through the National Restaurant Association.
