Completion of the Michigan Conservation Stewards Program (CSP) is not required in order to participate in the Twin Creek Natural Area walk. Conservation Walk Details
Join MSU Extension and the North Country CISMA for a guided, behind-the-scenes walking tour of Evart's award-winning Twin Creek Nature Area. In late July, the vibrant native prairies and cold-water streams are teeming with life - but they face constant threats from invasive species.
The site is an easy walk, with a nature trail that loops back to the starting point on the 27-acre property. Along the way, you will see exactly how we manage high-stakes ecological invaders and discover how local volunteers are actively restoring this ecosystem. If you have ever wanted to do more than just hike through nature, this walk will show you how to become an active protector of Michigan’s landscapes.
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the upcoming MSU Extension Conservation Stewards Program that will be hosting a fall cohort spanning Osceola, Lake and Mecosta counties, and how you can sign up before the August 9 registration deadline!
