Seminar Title: “Sensory Research for Food & Health: Understanding Sensory Perception and Individual Differences"
Location: S. Anthony 1135 and Zoom
Angie Carter is an associate professor in Michigan Technological University’s Department of Social Sciences in Houghton, MI. She currently is in year six of ongoing community-based research with a cross-sector collaboration in Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula studying local food systems. Her mixed-methods research includes surveys, case studies, interviews, policy analysis, and participatory research. She is a steering team member of the Northern ROOTS (Regional Organizing for Opportunity, Trust, and Stewardship) Collaborative, an emergent rural development hub convened by the Keweenaw Community Foundation. In addition, she serves as the rural sociologist on the NC-SARE Administrative Council and on the steering teams of the Western Upper Peninsula Food Systems Collaborative.
