Part of growing food can connect you to others who are passionate about creating a stronger, more robust food system bridled with local, seasonal produce.
Volunteering is a way that people can get involved in helping farmers sustain their important work of feeding others.
In this workshop, we’ll cover:
- the psychology of volunteerism
- identifying your goals
- outreach strategies
- training volunteers
- volunteer retention
This workshop is for anyone that wants to engage volunteers, become more thoughtful in managing volunteers or improve what you are already doing.
Speaker profile: shane bernardo (he/they) has over a decade of experience managing volunteers and is a long-life Detroit resident active in the grassroots food movement.
Icebreaker question:
- What is the size of your farm (small, midsize or very large)
