There are hundreds of moss species in Michigan! In this workshop, attendees will learn the basics of moss field identification using a hand lens and the general patterns of moss ecology - such as which species grow in upland or wetland habitats, and which species are likely to be found on wood, soil, or rocks. Led by Jeremy Hartsock, MSU Fisheries and Wildlife.
Park at the Eddy Discovery Center and meet at the picnic areas by the main building. The bog trail head is located closest to the southern parking area. The hike is about a mile each way (2 miles total).
Cost: FREE
