Embark on an unforgettable adventure at Upper Peninsula 4-H Camp, where friendships flourish and new skills are mastered! Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Clear Lake, within the enchanting Hiawatha National Forest, our camp promises an immersive experience like no other.
Activities include team-building exercises, canoeing, swimming, outdoor field sports recreation, arts and crafts, nature walks, aquatic education, snorkeling, archery, community service projects, campfires, singing, STEAM learning, and much more!
Under the watchful eyes of our dedicated adult chaperones and energetic teen counselors, campers dive into a world of exploration and discovery. From thrilling outdoor escapades to engaging educational activities, every moment is filled with excitement and learning.
Our team of seasoned 4-H professionals and partner organizations meticulously plan each activity, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for all. With a resident nurse on standby, the well-being of our campers is our top priority.
Camper Age
U.P. 4-H Camp is for youth aged 9 to 13 or going into 4th-8th grades in the fall.
You do not need to be a member of 4-H to attend the event, but all participants will be asked to enroll in 4-H Online upon completing their event registration.
Teen Counselor Age
Age 14 or going into 9th grade by the first day of camp.
We appreciate your willingness to volunteer at our camp and there is no fee for your registration! Teen Counselors should complete an application for this position. You can find the form at the following link: https://bit.ly/UPCAMPVolReg

Living Groups
The cabins are well-constructed and comfortable with electricity and bunk beds. There are modern restrooms separate from the housing cabins. Participants are housed by their gender identity. Teen counselors and/or two screened adult volunteers/staff will be housed in the cabins should the campers need anything at any time.
Dining Hall
Well-balanced, tasty meals and snacks are prepared and served by our fabulous cooks. If your participant has dietary considerations, please include this information later in this registration.
Registration Cost:
Register early - camp filled by June 1st last year!
Early-bird pricing (March 1- April 30, 2026) : $140.00
May 1- May 30, 2026: $150.00
Payment:
- A $50 Deposit is required to hold your registration for camp.
- If you are in need of a full scholarship, please select Pay By Check at checkout and contact your 4-H staff. If you pay by credit card, we will be unable to refund your scholarship amount.

*Registration fee for 1 child can be waived for any parent who serves as an approved MSUE VSP screened gold volunteer as an overnight chaperone.
Camper Registration Process:
You must be enrolled for the current 4-H year (2025-26) in 4-H Online to register for camp
Current Members: log in to 4-H Online, scroll below the list of family members, and complete your registration- see registering for camp below
Previously enrolled members: Login to 4-H Online with your username and password and re-enroll for 2025-26. Select club: County - General Experience; project: outdoor recreation).

New 4-H member: go to 4-H Online, create a 4-H online profile, and enroll your member – (your county/ select club: County - General Experience; project: outdoor recreation).

Registering for Camp:
Once a staff member approves your enrollment as a 4-H member for 2025-26, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you used to create your profile. You may then register for camp. Once approved, select the member list, scroll below the list of family members. U.P. Summer Camp tile will appear below list.
U.P. Summer Camp tile can also be accessed under the events tab for on the family screen and you can enrolled each member by clicking on the event and selecting the member you wish to register.
Click on the blue register button and follow the prompts.
Adult Chaperones:
We are actively recruiting adult chaperones for the 2026 U.P. 4-H Camp to meet the required adult-to-youth ratios for an overnight camp. We are seeking parents or other adults who may be willing to volunteer in this important role.
Ideal candidates could include:
- Retired school employees
- 4-H volunteers
- College students (age 21 or older)
- Adults looking to gain experience working with youth
- Community members who simply enjoy the outdoors and helping young people grow
Chaperoning is a simple, rewarding, and fun way to spend time in the forest!
Chaperone Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must complete the MSU Extension Volunteer Selection Process, which includes a background check, online application, training modules, and an interview with 4-H staff
- Stay in a cabin with campers (ages 9–13) and 1–2 teen counselors (ages 15–19)
- Help watch for signs of homesickness
- Ensure camper safety and inclusion in all activities
- Engage with campers and assist during camp sessions
- Make sure campers are always in their designated areas
