11:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT ZAC in Action: Proven Results and How to Get Involved in 2027-Morning Session
MSU Extension’s Zoning Administrator Certificate (ZAC) Program has a 20+ year history of reducing legal liability by providing quality education and training to Michigan zoning officials. This webinar will explain what exactly ZAC is and share highlights from recent research on the program’s impact on Michigan communities. In 2024, the ZAC team surveyed past program participants and non-participants to better understand the long-term impact that ZAC has had on participants and their communities. This project showed that past ZAC participants rated their knowledge and skills significantly higher in 10 of 12 key areas of zoning administrator compared to those who had not attended the program. Additionally, half of past participants reported reduced legal risk for the communities. These results are why the ZAC program consistently reaches capacity and the team will be offering ZAC twice in 2027. Details, including how to register and prepare, these two offerings of ZAC planned for early 2027. All registrants will be emailed a recording of the webinar and a copy of the full report, Empowering Local Leadership and Governance: Impacts of MSU Extension’s Zoning Administrator Certificate Program. With proven outcomes and sustained interest, MSU Extension’s Zoning Administrator Certificate Program provides enduring value to positively shape the future of Michigan communities. Choose the session that works best for you and join us in this webinar to learn more about the program. COST: Free
