Job Title: Assistant Property Manager
Classification: Exempt/Full Time
Reports to: Property Manager
Job Summary: Seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to maintain the grounds, buildings, and equipment
on a private estate located in Wolverine, Michigan throughout all seasons. This role includes supervision of
seasonal employees, outdoor maintenance, landscaping, construction projects, equipment management, and
seasonal preparation. The candidate must be proficient with tools, enjoy physical work, and be committed to
providing high-quality upkeep.
As Assistant Property Manager, the employee is required to perform the following duties and
professionally undertake the following responsibilities:
Spring:
• Rake lawns and clean up approximately 4 acres.
• Perform trail maintenance on 15 miles of wooded trails using chainsaws and pruners.
• Landscape three buildings/homes by trimming bushes, replacing mulch, and handling other
gardening tasks.
• Clean and maintain equipment, including 3 trucks, 1 farm tractor, 6 four-wheelers, 5
snowmobiles, and 6 farm tractor implements.
• Wash windows and perform high ladder work for four buildings.
Summer:
• Mow house lawns (1 ½ acres) weekly with a push mower and other lawns with riding
commercial mowers.
• Trim around buildings and sweep porches and decks.
• Wash interior and exterior of vehicles and equipment biweekly.
• Clear fencing lines of debris and trees, install fencing posts, pull wire, and complete
approximately 2 miles of fencing per summer.
• Repair fencing and post "No Trespassing" signs along 14 miles of fence annually.
• Conduct construction projects such as shelving in the cold storage barn and
recycling/demolition of the old log cabin.
• Paint garages, barns, and skeet buildings as needed.
• Repair or replace pond docks and manage outdoor furniture storage and cleaning.
Fall:
• Cut and stack firewood (approximately two weeks of work).
• Perform final exterior repairs to buildings before winter.
• Store equipment in the barn and prepare houses for winter.
• Winterize skeet machines.
Winter:
• Shovel snow from porches, decks, doorways, and sidewalks of three garages/barns and two
houses.
• Plow driveways and other estate roads as necessary.
• Move equipment from cold storage to the main garage for maintenance.
• Pack trails with snowmobiles for family walking access and check dam water flow at the pond.
• Undertake indoor construction projects in barns and garages.
Requirements:
• Experience with landscaping tools, heavy equipment, and general maintenance tasks.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Knowledge of fencing installation and repair.
• Basic construction and painting skills.
• Ability to perform high ladder work safely.
• Familiarity with seasonal property upkeep, including winterization and snow removal.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
