Required Skills:

· Associate’s degree in horticulture or comparable education/experience.
· Valid MI driver’s license.
· Must become familiar with all of our plants, their respective pruning specifications, disease and pest problems, and biological, physical, environmental, and chemical controls for their culture.
· Understands, embraces, implements and effectively lead concepts of Lean Manufacturing.
· Commits to horticulture as his or her career and has a strong interest in biology.
· Certified Green Industry Professional is a plus.
· Must be self-directed, perceptive, responsible, timely and precise.
· Hard working team players constantly seeking more efficient and waste free methods to work.
· Develops specific knowledge as it relates to the production and care of our product line.
· Must be coordinated and fast with their eyes and hands.
· Must be capable of communicating well, and working alone or in small groups.

· Independent as well as team oriented.
Essential Functions:
· Irrigation, weeding, chemical and bio-control applications, fertilizing, pruning, tying, staking and sorting are actions growers must successfully implement to maintain and continually improve our plants.
· Focuses on continuous improvement in all aspects of staff development, plant care, and facility care.
· Manages plant care with hundreds of different plant genera.
· Leads a team of 2-3 teammates
· Implements and leads our IPM and biological control programs.
· Available to work every third weekend (one weekend on, two weekends off). And, 2-3 holidays per year.
· 2-3 hours each weekend day from November to March,
· 5-6 hours each weekend day from April-October
· Weekend work and holiday compensated at double time- Flexible unpaid time off the week after working a weekend.

Schedule:
· Day shift 8:00am to 4:30pm
· Monday through Friday
· Some Weekends & Holidays- Weekend and holiday rotation
Supplemental Pay:
· Time & a half for overtime (40+)
· Holiday Pay
· Paid Holidays
· Double time for weekends and holiday irrigation.
