Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic college student currently enrolled in a horticulture program to join our team as a Summer Intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in landscape design, maintenance, and installation while working alongside seasoned professionals in a collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Management/Processing/Marketing: Working directly with the Owner and General Manager for setting up new methodization and processes internally within the company (CRM Operating System). Also working to develop the bidding process and will require some Landscape Graphics work to be done on our system.

• Landscape Maintenance: Assist with validating the care of commercial properties, including planting, pruning, mulching, and turf management.

• Plant Health & Care: Identify plant species, assess their health, and apply appropriate care techniques (watering, fertilization, pest management, etc.).

• Project Involvement: Collaborate on landscaping projects, from planning and design to installation, gaining exposure to client communication and project management.

• Sustainability Practices: Learn and apply environmentally responsible techniques such as native plant selection, efficient irrigation methods, and soil health improvements.

• Equipment Use & Safety: Gain hands-on experience with landscaping tools and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.

• Passion for plants, landscaping, and outdoor environments.

• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to the success of the company.

 

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

· Understanding of Bidding processes and CRM software.

• Basic knowledge of plant identification and care.

• Familiarity with landscape tools and equipment.

• Experience with design software or CAD (helpful for project involvement).

 

Schedule & Compensation:

• Full-time position (40 hours/week) for the summer.

• Competitive hourly wage.

• Potential for academic credit, depending on university requirements.
