Summer 2026 Landscape Design Internship
Who are we?
Goldner Walsh is a family-rooted small business commi6ed to our community located in Pon8ac’s historic
district. Built over decades of hands-on work and a genuine love for gardening, we have grown into a close-knit
team that takes pride in both our craB and our company. Our landscape design-build group works closely with
homeowners to turn ideas into 8meless outdoor spaces. While most of our work is residen8al, we also take on
a select number of municipal and commercial projects that align with our approach. Beyond our landscape
department, our nursery has earned a na8onally recognized reputa8on for unique, high-quality plant
selec8ons. Our garden center and tropical greenhouses carry that same level of care into the retail experience,
and our full-service flower shop serves as a crea8ve resource for every occasion. We also host a wide range of
events across our venues offering dis8nc8ve spaces for people to gather and celebrate. As we con8nue to
grow, our mission remains consistent; evolving to be6er serve our clients build custom outdoor spaces and
experiences while adap8ng to the world around us.
Intern responsibili=es include assis=ng and gaining experience within the project design process including:
• ini8al client mee8ngs
• site visits including measuring and field notes
• produce designs for jobs u8lizing a variety of methods
• tag plant materials in nursery for projects
• a6end client mee8ngs/design presenta8ons
• produce and/or revise project es8mates
• collaborate with designers
• on site set-up of crews and site visits to comple8on of project
• day-to-day project needs as part of team including phone and email communica8on with clients
• assist with container work installa8ons in field
• record product codes for invoice process
• in-house design project to be presented at the end of internship
Skills and Qualifica=ons:
• preferred entering junior or senior year of Landscape Architecture program, Hor8cultural Design, or
other related crea8ve field; will consider rising sophomore with qualifica8ons
• excellent wri6en and verbal communica8on skills
• strong organiza8onal skills with ability to mul8-task efficiently
• ability to work with and coordinate as a team player as well as independently
• passion for crea8vity and design

• strong hand sketching and graphic abili8es; experience with Procreate or willingness to learn program
• strong 8me management and cri8cal thinking skills
• high degree of self-mo8va8on and self-inspired ini8a8ve
• ability to adapt to changing priori8es
• ability to ac8vely listen, learn and ask ques8ons as needed
• occasional special project or assist other departments within company if needs arise
• ability to carry up to 40 lbs if needed (soil bags, po6ed plants, etc) and work outdoors in varying
weather condi8ons
• plant knowledge a plus but not necessary
• a sense of humor – we work hard but also like to have fun at Goldner Walsh

Details:
• Timeframe: May through July, 30 to 40 hours per week pending work load
• Pay: $19 to 21 per hour
