Seed Project (Delivery Driver & Sales Support)

February 2024 – July 2024

Objectives: To support the in-district management of our client’s seed inventory. Under the direction of the client’s local personnel, the employee will transport seed between retail locations, distributor locations and client-owned facilities, so it is positioned to meet the unique needs of the client. These activities will take place prior to, through and in some areas, past the planting season. Additional seed-related activities could include counting and reporting inventory, transporting demonstration seed to growers and researchers, sales support under the direction of the client’s local personnel and assisting in plot planting and harvesting.

Position Requirements:

The employee will need to demonstrate a familiarity with packaging of seed products and ability to distinguish products by tags, labels, and package. Must demonstrate the ability to manually lift >50 pounds and have the physical agility to assist in loading and unloading of seed products into trucks or trailers. Must have the ability to move pallets of seed using a provided pallet jack or pallet puller. Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a 26-foot box truck or similar. The employee must also demonstrate the ability to track, log, and enter information into a provided database, e-form or inventory tracking system in a timely and accurate manner as determined by the client.

Computer, tablet or smartphone with high-speed internet connection
Mobile telephone with hands-free capability and voicemail
Vehicle in working condition
The ability to print and scan documents as needed
Pass a background check, drug screen and DOT physical

Training: Employee will be required to participate in a training meeting with DRI and client in early 2024. The training meeting is mandatory; no work will be allowed nor compensation paid to any employee that fails to participate in the training session.

Time Frame: Must be available for assignment from February 2024 through July 2024. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Compensation: Hourly rates for in-field activities will be based upon individual employee

background and experience.

Expenses: All necessary expenses incurred in conducting the field activities will be reimbursed if they are in accordance with DRI’s Time and Expense Policy. This includes use of personal vehicle mileage at the current IRS rate in effect at the time the mileage is incurred, lodging and airfare (both of which require advance approval).

Confidentiality: This information is strictly confidential. Any breach of confidentiality will be considered grounds for dismissal from this project and may prohibit employee from working on future projects with DRI.
