Summer Field Assistant for Blueberry Crops

The Edger Lab in the Department of Horticulture seeks to hire 2-3 field assistants to help
with blueberry field work and plant care this summer. Daily activities will focus on field
work, including but not limited to mowing, weeding, watering, pruning, putting down
weed mats and transplanting. Flexible working schedule can be agreed upon in
consultation with supervisor.
Duration: Late April to late August 2026
Salary: $17/hr.
Location: South Campus Horticulture Farms.
Required Qualifications:
● Ability to work outside on uneven terrain for multiple hours at a time
● Ability to sustain physical activity in hot and cold environments
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
● Ability to work as an effective team member
● Attention to details and protocols
● No previous experience required
● 20-30 hours per week, depending on operational needs
