Cornell AgriTech in Geneva, NY offers a Summer Research Scholars Program for undergraduate
students to carry out their own independent research projects in Entomology, Horticulture/Plant
Breeding, Plant Pathology, Food Science, and Agribusiness.
Student interns work with faculty, their graduate students and postdocs on research projects
focused on specialty crops that can be laboratory and/or field based. Students will have the
opportunity to learn a variety of advanced agricultural research tools ranging from genetic and
molecular methods to remote sensing and other techniques in the field of digital agriculture.
Specifics
Nine-week internships to conduct research in a faculty program at Cornell’s Geneva campus.
Gain research experience and learn about the research and extension conducted at Cornell.
Discussions on careers in science and other professional development topics will be offered.
Group activities including field trips to local farms and agricultural production facilities.
Benefits/support included: $6,200 stipend and housing.
Program starts on May 28, 2026 (May 27 travel) and runs through July 31, 2026 (August 1 travel).
Eligibility
Must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2026.
Must be enrolled as an undergraduate in a discipline relevant to an area of emphasis within our
program (e.g. life or agricultural sciences, engineering, computer science, or agribusiness) by
June 2026. Preference will be given to students with two to three years of college level study.
Must have at least one semester remaining at home institution following the completion of the
Summer Scholars Program.
