The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) community joined together on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, for another successful Giving Tuesday campaign. In total, more than $21,000 was raised for various projects and programs representing the college, AgBioResearch and MSU Extension. Thank you to all who participated and helped to promote Giving Tuesday!

On Giving Tuesday, the college featured a CrowdPower project in support of the CANR Whole Student Success Fund, which raised more than $6,000 from 51 gifts, far exceeding the project’s $5,000 fundraising goal. These gifts will directly benefit CANR students experiencing critical, time-sensitive needs, such as food and housing insecurity, as well as supporting students struggling with the cost of textbooks, health and wellness resources, supplies or other technological needs.

The 4-H community made an impact on Giving Tuesday by supporting county 4-H endowments and other 4-H funds. A total of $5,480 was raised for county 4-H endowments. Including all matching gifts, bonuses and gifts to all 4-H funds, a grand total of $8,112 was raised from 52 donors to support 4-H’ers on #GivingTuesday!

Thanks to a generous matching 4-H donor, the top four counties that raised the most funds on Giving Tuesday received bonus funds. Those counties included:

Sanilac County
Ionia County
Clinton County
Wayne County

Together, gifts to these projects, as well as donations to funds from other CANR departments and units, empower the success of our current students, faculty and staff while building a stronger college for generations of Spartans to come. As we celebrate the season of giving and gratitude, thank you for all you do to support our students, the college and Michigan State University.
