Jill Cruth, of the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, will be honored with the 2025 CANR Staff Dean’s Award of Distinction on May 8.
The CANR Staff Dean’s Award of Distinction recognizes a support staff member for their outstanding long-term service to CANR and exemplary performance during their employment.
As an Academic Program Coordinator in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, Jill Cruth has been an integral part of the CANR community since 2001. Her keen insights and institutional knowledge have been instrumental in the academic journey of numerous CANR students. Cruth’s support of faculty and staff in navigating program complexities and administrative processes underscores her immense value to the department and broader college.
According to one nominator, “Jill sees the big picture of our academic programs and how her role fits within that; student success is always her top priority. Jill is a leader who shows us how to be beautiful human beings and how to care for each other.”
Cruth is known as a team player who continually goes above and beyond. Many in the department, including graduates, often attribute part of their success to Cruth’s influence and support.
Numerous individuals consider her a foundational part of the Fisheries and Wildlife community, noting that her service and drive help keep the department functional. Her presence is regarded as vital to the department's sense of community and belonging.
