Goutham Thotakuri received the Third Award in the Poster and Oral Competition under the Soil Physics and Hydrology Division at CANVAS 2025 for presenting the research titled “Soil Structure Regulates Particulate Organic Matter Formation and Its Spatial Distribution Through Species-Specific Carbon Allocation Patterns.” The study examined how soil structural conditions influence root growth behavior and species-specific carbon allocation among cover crops using 13C pulse labeling and X-ray µCT analysis. The research contributes to understanding soil carbon dynamics and the role of soil structure in regulating carbon transfer and stabilization processes, supporting sustainable agricultural management practices.
