How to Prioritize Your Content
It's easy to overload a website with too much content, especially because mobile visitors make up the majority of our audiences.
Here is a quick process to help you determine what content should take priority on your website:
- List the primary goals your department is trying to meet.
- List the various audiences you provide content for on your website.
- For each audience you have identified, list the most important pieces of content you believe they would be interested in.
- Consider which audience is your primary focus and which ones are important but can have dedicated subsections on your website.
- Sketch out a linear wireframe of the content that should be displayed on your homepage (and potentially on the index pages of your major subsections).
- Implement this wireframe using an existing website template.
