Michigan beekeeping associations host several opportunities to learn about beekeeping.
Spring is a great time of year to learn about beekeeping. Whether you are a new or seasoned beekeeper, there is always something to learn! In addition to several resources listed at getting started with beekeeping in Michigan, there are many opportunities to learn at beekeeping conferences in Michigan this spring.

- Grand Rapids Area Beekeeping Club is holding its Grand Rapids Bee School in person on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Grand Rapids Community College, Wisner Bottrall Building, 151 Fountain St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. - Holland Area Beekeepers Association is holding the 2026 Holland Area Beekeepers Association Bee School in person on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Central Wesleyan Church, 446 W 40th Street, Holland, MI 49423. - Center of Michigan Beekeepers is holding Beginning Beekeeping Basics classes at the MSU Agronomy Farm, 4450 Beaumont Rd, Lansing, MI on Saturday, Feb. 21. More information is available on Center of Michigan Beekeepers’ Beginning Beekeeping Basics registration page.
- Kalamazoo Bee Club is holding the Kalamazoo Bee School in person on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Kalamazoo Valley Community Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. More information is available on the Kalamazoo Bee School registration page.
- Owosso Bee Club will hold a 101 Beekeeping Class in person on Saturday, Feb. 21, at American Legion Post 57, 201 E Mason St, Owosso, MI 48867. Register by emailing owossobeeclub1@gmail.com; pre-registration is required and walk-ins will not be accepted.
- Michigan State University Extension’s 2026 MI Ag Ideas to Grow With virtual conference will include a session on Getting started with Beekeeping in Michigan on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. The 2026 MI Ag Ideas to Grow With conference will be held virtually Feb. 23-27. This week-long program encompasses many aspects of the agricultural industry and offers a full array of educational sessions for farmers and homeowners interested in food production and other agricultural endeavors.
- Michigan Beekeepers Association is holding its spring conference in person on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan. - Southeastern Michigan Beekeepers Association (SEMBA) is holding the SEMBA 2026 Spring Conference in person on Saturday, March 14, at the Washtenaw Community College, Morris Lawrence Building, 4800 E Huron River Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
