Join us at the Central Michigan Equine Expo
Michigan State University Extension in partnership with Henning Stables and Harvey Milling Company – Agriculture Solutions is hosting the Central Michigan Equine Expo.
Horse ownership is a little bit of art and a little bit of science. Everyone likes to drive by a nice green pasture and see horses serenely grazing or majestically galloping around the pasture. But as all horse owners know, having a horse is hard work. There is manure to be hauled, pastures to be maintained, medical emergencies, horse temperaments and so much more that the average person who does not own horses is aware of. To help horse owners better understand the day-to-day tasks of guardianship of these great beasts, Michigan State University in partnership with Henning Stables and Harvey Milling Company- Agriculture Solutions is holding the Central Michigan Equine Expo. This event is for all horse owners, including 4-H members who want to understand how to be better horse owners.
The expo will be at Henning Stables, 10160 W. Walton Rd. Blanchard in Isabella County on June 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The topics that will be covered are: poisonous pasture plants, manure management for horses, horse trailer safety, information on horse X-rays and ultrasounds and equine feed. To round out the day, there will be a showmanship demonstration by the Carson City Schools Equestrian Team. Lunch will be provided.
