The 5-year 0.11 - mill renewal will provide continued funding for MSU Extension educational programs in Gladwin County

On August 8, Gladwin County voters chose to continue funding for Michigan State University Extension through a 0.11 millage renewal request. This 5 year ballot approval will continue funding for MSU Extension through 2028.

MSU Extension is a three-way funding partnership between local, state and federal governments. Local investment secures federal, state and grant funding in service to Wexford County residents. Through this partnership, residents are connected to the university network of experts and to statewide programs in 4-H and other youth development opportunities, agriculture, health and nutrition, consumer horticulture, natural resources protection and development, and community and economic development.

“The community has our commitment to being good stewards of millage funds that will continue providing impactful programming to Gladwin County,” says Eric Karbowski, MSU Extension district director. “I’d like to thank the voters for continuing to place their support in the work we do. We pledge to work hard to ensure that we are meeting the needs of Gladwin County residents.”

MSU Extension annually serves over 1,200 youth through 4-H youth development programs and many more in their educational programs for adults and senior citizens.

MSU Extension helps people improve their lives by bringing the vast knowledge resources of MSU directly to individuals, communities and businesses. With a presence in every Michigan county, MSU Extension faculty and staff members help grow Michigan’s economy by equipping Michigan residents with the information that they need to do their jobs better, raise healthy and safe families, build their communities and empower their children to dream of a successful future.
