Michigan irrigation team coming to Great Lakes Expo 2024

Speakers at the Great Lakes Expo irrigation session will share information on managing irrigation and improved irrigation practices. Attendees will be introduced to the MSU Irrigation Scheduling App and can receive help with app setup.

The Michigan State University Extension irrigation team is coming to the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market Expo on Dec. 11, 2024. The team will be presenting topics ranging from water use registration and the available methods of irrigation scheduling to the fate of irrigation water. The last portion of the session will be a workshop period dedicated to getting attendees set up in the Michigan State University (MSU) irrigation scheduling app and walking through the process of creating an irrigation schedule.

The irrigation session spans from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be held in Grand Gallery Overlook D at the Devos Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team welcomes all with an interest in irrigation!

Session 1: Basic Concepts of Drip Irrigation

Session 2: Optimizing Center Pivot Irrigation 

2:05 – 2:40 p.m. - Hands-on Training: Mastering Irrigation Scheduling with IrrigMSU App (Available in English and Spanish) - Younsuk Dong, Angie Gradiz, Brenden Kelley and Lyndon Kelley
2:40 – 3:00 p.m. - Improving Uniformity While Reducing Runoff Potential - Angie Gradiz
