Michigan State University Extension’s first Strawberry Day coming July 8
Learn strawberry production and agritourism in southwest Michigan.
Michigan State University Extension will be hosting its 2026 Strawberry Day on Wednesday, July 8. The welcome and morning session will be held at David Hubbard’s River Valley Farms in Constantine, Michigan, where we will discuss strawberry production, renovation, equipment and integrated pest management. This event is directed primarily at operators of strawberry farms and farm markets.
Morning presenters will include MSU professors Josh Miranda in weed science, Josh Vander Weide in small fruit horticulture, Tim Miles in small fruit pathology, and Rufus Isaacs in small fruit entomology.
In the afternoon, we will move over to nearby Hubbard’s Corey Lake Orchards in Three Rivers, Michigan, where Beth Hubbard will welcome us for lunch and an afternoon session focused on agritourism and direct sales of strawberries with MSU Extension educators Derek Plotkowski and Cheyenne Sloan. You won’t want to miss Corey Lake Orchards’ signature pies and other great items from their bakery.
Registration is open but capped at 50 registrants.
The event is free and sponsored by Michigan Agritourism Association, Michigan State Horticultural Society and the Isaacs Lab at MSU.
