MSU PSEP launches Pesticide Safety Webinar Series: The RUP Credit Clinic to support Michigan applicator recertification
The Michigan State University Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) announces its first webinar series running from fall through winter, helping Michigan pesticide applicators earn RUP credits and stay current on safety and regulatory topics.
The Michigan State University Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is pleased to announce its first Pesticide Safety Webinar Series: The RUP Credit Clinic, designed to help certified pesticide applicators across Michigan maintain their credentials and enhance their knowledge of pesticide safety and regulation.
This new online series will run throughout fall 2025 and winter 2026, with sessions offered on the first Monday and Wednesday of each month. A total of ten webinars will be delivered via Zoom, providing a flexible and accessible option for Michigan pesticide applicators to meet their recertification requirements. Each webinar date will feature four distinct sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, covering core topics, Bulletins Live Two (BLT) updates and category-specific sessions. Participants can earn up to four Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) recertification credits per webinar date, with two credits available for the morning sessions and two credits for the afternoon sessions.
The PSEP RUP Credit Clinic features presentations by knowledgeable experts with experience in pesticide safety, application practices and regulatory topics relevant to certified applicators in Michigan. This RUP Credit Clinic provides applicators with a convenient, high-quality opportunity to earn credits and strengthen their understanding of pesticide safety. The goal is to make recertification easier while ensuring applicators stay informed about current regulations and safe handling practices. Each session is designed to be educational and practical, focusing on safe and effective pesticide use, compliance with Michigan regulations and current EPA guidance. The online format allows participants to learn from anywhere, engage with instructorsp and ask questions directly during the live presentations.
