MSU Researcher Receives the 2024 AWRA Honorary Member Award

Pouyan Nejadhashemi, Michigan State University Research Foundation Professor in the Department
of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering and the Department of Plant, Soil, and Microbial Sciences, has received the 2024 American Water Resources Association Honorary Member Award.
Nejadhashemi is a globally recognized researcher who is directing a multidisciplinary team that is pioneering an ecosystem-centric approach to resolving water resource challenges. He is also an author of over 150 peer-reviewed articles, has held board positions in several top journals, and delivered over 200 presentations at conferences worldwide.
Nejadhashemi is an expert in ecohydrology, which delves into how water interacts with ecological systems. His research program has received significant funding, including grants from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
