During the week of July 30, 2017, the Policy project organized a three-day training on “Introduction to STATA” in Niger State. Participants included planners, policy analysts, heads of departments, and directors of the Niger State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Niger State Agricultural Development Programme.

The Training modules were delivered by Mr. Wale Ogunleye (the pioneer Visiting Scholars Program who returned from Michigan State University in May 2017) in collaboration with Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, a Nigerian Faculty to build on the training one to train another approach. Opening remarks were given by the Director, Planning Research and Statistics of the Niger State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Participants were exposed to the usefulness of STATA for policy research and how to use the software package for policy research.
