Third annual MI Ag Ideas to Grow With virtual conference focuses on food and animal production
The MI Ag Ideas to Grow With virtual conference offers an array of free educational sessions on food and animal production from February 27 through March 10.
Michigan State University Extension invites you to participate in the 2023 MI Ag Ideas to Grow With conference, Feb. 27-March 10, 2023.
“Now in our third year, we’re excited by the growth and success of this unique program,” said Beth Ferry, MSU Extension educator based in Berrien County. “This event was originally started to fill a gap when in-person events couldn’t be offered, but we’ve found a niche and are able to use this platform to share a variety of sessions with attendees from all across the Great Lakes region.”
The MI Ag Ideas to Grow With virtual conference will feature more than 40 educational sessions across a two-week period with topics focused on fruit and vegetable production, field crops, animal agriculture, food preservation, farm business management for beginners, crop insurance, the environment and conservation, growing and pricing products for the school market, and farm stress. The conference will kick off on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, with Water Day, a full day of sessions on drainage and irrigation.
“This year’s event showcases the vibrancy of Michigan’s agricultural industry,” said Ferry. “There’s truly a session for everyone and we look forward to the expertise this year’s speakers will share with attendees.”
Due to the generous support of MSU Extension and the MI Ag Ideas to Grow With virtual conference sponsors, this event is offered to participants at no cost. Attendees must register to receive the necessary Zoom links. Attendees can attend as many sessions as they would like and are also able to jump around between tracks. RUP and CCA credits will be offered for several of the sessions. More information can be found at: https://www.canr.msu.edu/miagideas/.
