Training One to Train Others - Capacity Building at the Delta State Ministry of Agriculture
A three-day training on “Introduction to STATA” for planners, policy analysts, heads of departments, directors and the Permanent Secretary of the Delta State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

During the week of July 2, 2017, the Policy project organized a three-day training on “Introduction to Stata” for planners, policy analysts, heads of departments, directors and the Permanent Secretary of the Delta State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Training modules were delivered by Mr. Wale Ogunleye (the pioneer PhD Scholar of the Project’s Visiting Scholars program who returned in May 2017 from Michigan State University) in collaboration with Dr. John Odozi, a Nigerian Faculty. The Trainers were supported by Messrs. Osayanmon Osawe and Monday Shaibu (both incoming project scholars at MSU).

The training was preceded by opening remarks from the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry attended the training. Participants were exposed to the usefulness of STATA for policy research and how to use the software package for policy research.
