My current research focuses on understanding how soil structure and pore network architecture regulate key physical and biological processes, with particular emphasis on how soil degradation affects soil ecosystem functions. I adopt a multi-scale approach integrating 2D micromorphology, X-ray computed tomography (micro-CT), and soil proximal sensing, to quantify soil structural organization and its functional implications.
During my Master’s studies, I investigated soil degradation in contaminated agricultural soils using multisensor proximal sensing and geostatistical analysis to assess soil compaction and spatial patterns of potentially toxic elements.
