Center for PFAS Research

Katie King is a PFAS Outreach Specialist for MSU AgBioResearch where her work focuses on educating farmers and community members about how PFAS chemicals make their way onto farmland. In this role, she has been focused on developing educational handouts, webinars, website content and presentations to translate complex scientific information into digestible content for various audiences. She has also been participating in the development of a PFAS Farmer Assistance Program where she and her other team members at MSU will work directly with farmers to test their land for PFAS, help them with data interpretation, and provide them with recommendations for mitigation to reduce risk on their farm. She began her PFAS work in her master's program in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University where her research focused on modeling the toxic effects of PFAS chemicals on valuable Great Lakes fishes.
