Remington Rice, PhD
Dr. Remington Rice is an Extension Educator with Michigan State University Extension and leads the statewide Managing Farm Stress program. This initiative provides critical resources, including referrals to counseling services and an online course to help farmers, farm families, and agricultural professionals recognize and respond to signs of stress and suicide.
Raised in a multigenerational Northern Michigan farm family, Dr. Rice brings both personal understanding and professional expertise to his work. He holds a doctorate in Health Psychology and partners with farmers across Michigan to support health, resilience, and well-being in agricultural communities.
Organizations and communities are encouraged to reach out to learn more about MSU Extension’s interactive and engaging workshops on farm stress, such as Communicating with Farmers and Weathering the Storm. Additional one-time presentations can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of your audience. While workshops require advance notice and scheduling depends on availability, MSU Extension will make every effort to collaborate and accommodate your needs. Each session is practical, relevant, and always includes moments of laughter alongside valuable strategies.
