Background and Research interests
Somneang is a 2024 Cambodian Fulbright Scholar. He is a second-year master's student in Food Science, and I work as a research assistant (RA) in the sensory lab. His research project is controlled environment strawberry production and consumer preference, where he identified the effect of growing temperatures, cultivars, and their interaction on physicochemical properties and sensory attributes. The novelty of this study is that he collected both physicochemical and sensory data on a single strawberry for every strawberry sample, allowing him to build a truer relationship between the two and the variability between berries.
