Larry Zink
Larry Zink is the Industry Relations/Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics. He acts as a liaison between major corporations in the industry and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics by hosting corporate representatives in the classroom and conducting successful internship and recruiting programs. In addition to these functions, Larry teaches a number of undergraduate courses, and is the career advisor and alumni coordinator for the Department,
Prior to his current position Larry was employed in the Food Industry for 19 years; 16 years with the Michigan State University Housing and Food Division Auxiliary Services and 3 years with Mainsail Inc. Melting Moments Ice Cream, a local Ice Cream Manufacturer/Retailer. Larry currently sits on the Produce Marketing Association Foundation for Future Industry Talent Board of Directors.
Larry has received the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Excellence in Teaching Award-New Teacher 2006 and the Michigan State University Distinguished Academic Specialist Award 2009. In Feb, 2014 Larry was awarded the Teaching Award of Merit from the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture.
