MSF 4-H & Youth Virtual Showcase 2026 Horse & Pony Showmanship, Equitation and Proud Equestrian Program Patterns

Patterns will be used for the following classes.  Please note different levels and different seats. 

  • Fitting & Showing
  • Hunt Seat Equitation
  • Walk-trot Hunt Seat Equitation
  • Saddle Seat Equitation
  • Walk-Trot Saddle Seat Equitation
  • Western Horsemanship
  • Walk-Trot Western Horsemanship

Proud Equestrian Classes:   

There will be no patterns for this area.  Equitation will be judged on use of aids, control of horse, position of rider.  Obstacle course, judged on performance of horse and rider and should include these maneuvers, walk, stop, turn both ways and backup.  Courses may include any of the objects; cones, ground poles, cavaletti, object to pick up-carry-replace and barrels.
