During this video, we discuss the main results, per acre costs, and break-even yields and prices for fresh and processor peaches. The video begins by providing an overview of the main results of the study. Then, we review the main establishment and production costs found for Michigan orchards. Starting at 8 minutes 18 seconds, we look at how harvest costs were calculated. At 20 minutes and 10 seconds, we illustrate breakdowns by cost category. We also identify breakeven prices and per bushel costs for different yields.
We demonstrate how to use the report’s tables, and discuss adjusting the budgets to your farm's specific numbers.
