The March event features Dr. Felipe Lopez Sustaita from Lansing Community College.

Intercultural CANR

Intercultural CANR is a college initiative involving an event hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) as a way to make space and explore aspects of our identities that are talked about less in our conversations about inclusion.

The Journey: Lessons from a Migrant Worker

Join us for a university-wide talk and Q & A with Dr. Felipe Lopez Sustaita as we discuss his book, You Can't Run From Your Destiny: Lessons from a Migrant Worker.

Background

Dr. Felipe is a higher education advocate, community leader, and former migrant worker. His passion for higher education is fueled by his dedication to lifting communities out of poverty. Felipe works to advance educational, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities for underrepresented communities. He also regularly returns to work in the agricultural fields of Michigan with his four sons to show them the value of hard work and to keep himself grounded. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and Ferris State University.
