Bob Wilson
Bob Wilson is the current Chairperson of the Michigan Trails Advisory Council appointed by Governor Whitmer. He is the former executive director of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance - the state wide voice for non-motorized trail users and for 28 years served as Senior Counsel to the Senate Natural Resources and Environmental affairs committee where he helped to author much of the state’s current environmental law, including the Great Lakes Compact, the Michigan Trailways Act and the Recreation Passport.
Bob received both his BA and MBA from Michigan State University and has been a licensed attorney for 38 years. Bob currently teaches both Environmental Law and Policy at MSU and has also taught Law and Policy at WMU. Bob also serves as the adviser to MSU’s Sustainable Business Association.
Bob enjoys cycling, running and paddling on Michigan Trails and is an avid open water marathon swimmer and trail runner. Bob’s wife Cathy is governmental affairs director for Consumers Energy and they have 4 children and 2 labs and a Chesapeake bay retriever.
