Mentorship

Farmers transitioning to organic are paired with experienced organic farmers for 40 hours of paid mentorship meetings annually.

What does the mentorship program entail?

  • Mentorship training videos (5 hours for mentors, 1 hour for mentees)
  • Mentorship contract and W9 form
  • Mentors and Mentees will meet regularly, visit one another’s farms, attend educational events together, and ask and answer questions for a total of 40 hours per year.
  • All participants will track meeting hours, complete evaluation surveys, participate in a community input meeting and attend quarterly check-ins with their assigned TOPP coordinator.
  • Mentors are paid $3,000 and mentees receive a $500 stipend, annually, to participate in the program.
