IAT Dairy Management Certificate
The Institute of Agricultural Technology Dairy Management program is designed to give students a foundation of knowledge and skills about dairy cows, the dairy industry and dairy farming as a business that they can continue to build upon after graduation from the program. The 48-credit program includes a combination of dairy management, agri-business, and crop courses and is typically completed within 4 semesters including one summer semester spent completing an internship.
Courses are practical in nature and focus on the basic knowledge and skills needed to be successful on all types of dairy operations as an owner, herdsman or dairy farm employee.
Following graduation, students earn a certificate preparing them for the job market. If interested, students can also transfer into Michigan State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in animal science with a dairy industry concentration or another related major.
Graduates find careers in a variety of dairy management, farming and nutrition industries based on their interests.

Out-Of-State Student Tuition Policy
All IAT students regardless of their residency status will pay the prevailing freshman undergraduate per credit rate. These rates can be found on the MSU tuition and fees webpage. IAT students are not included in the block tuition program for undergraduate programs at MSU.
